USCIS Announces New and Updated Fees – Effective July 22, 2025
USCIS has implemented several new fees and adjustments related to asylum, employment authorization, and humanitarian immigration categories:
New Fees Introduced:
Form I-589 (Asylum Application): One-time filing fee of $100.
Annual Asylum Fee (AAF): $100 per calendar year, paid online, for applicants with pending Form I-589 cases.
Form I-765 (Employment Authorization) – for categories (a)(4), (a)(12), (c)(8), (c)(11), (c)(19), and (c)(34): Initial EAD application: $550 Renewal/Extension: $275 Exception: If applying for an EAD following USCIS-approved re-parole via Form I-131, the fee is $275.
Form I-360 (Special Immigrant Juvenile): New filing fee of $250.
Form I-821 (Temporary Protected Status): Registration fee increased from $50 to $500.
